Dans un royaume gouverné par un roi cruel et démoniaque, un jeune garçon nommé Eragon trouve un œuf de dragon. Cet œuf éclos est donne naissance à Saphira. Eragon devient alors Dragonnier. Il est le seul représentant d’une caste que toutes les forces du royaumes veulent contrôler.
