Alison Lurie

Alison Lurie est née en 1926 à Chicago (USA) et a grandi à New York. Diplômée de Radcliffe College, elle est professeur d’American Studies à Cornell University. Elle enseigne la littérature, le folklore et l’écriture.

Ses romans se distinguent par une critique sociale piquante vis à vis de ses contemporains, notamment à l’égard des milieux intellectuels. La plupart de ses personnages sont en effet écrivains (Imaginary Friends, The Truth About Lorin Jones) ou universitaires (Imaginary Friends, Foreign Affairs).
