C’est un joli conte, une belle histoire, sans morale, sans réel sens : George Orr est un rêveur. En soit ce n’est pas particulier, mais ses rêves à lui changent la réalité. Et lorsqu’elle est changée, elle remplace l’ancienne réalité, et personne ne le remarque. Sauf lui, et le psychiatre qu’il est obligé de consulter à cause d’une loi sur les excès de drogues. Car George le vit très mal, ce pouvoir, il ne sait pas quoi en faire, et voudrait ne plus rêver...
